Connect your first Bambu printer

Install the bridge on a Windows PC, pair it with a code from PrintSol, add your printers with their access code, and see live status.

PrintSol talks to your printers through a small program called the bridge. It runs on a PC on the same network as the printers and connects out to PrintSol over HTTPS, so you never open a port on your router.

1. Install the bridge

Go to Printers → Connect printers. Under "The bridge" you will find the Windows downloads: the Windows installer (recommended), a portable app and a command-line version. The installer adds Start menu and desktop shortcuts and can start the bridge with Windows. The PC you already slice on is fine; it does not need to be a dedicated machine.

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning the first time because the program is not yet signed. Choose More info → Run anyway. macOS and Linux are not offered as downloads yet.

2. Pair it

  • In PrintSol, under "Pair a new bridge", press Generate pairing code. You get a code like ABCD-EF23.
  • In the bridge window, open Pairing, enter the address of your PrintSol site (just the address, no page path) and the code, and press Pair.
  • The code is valid for 15 minutes and works once. Generating a new code cancels the old one.

Only an owner or manager can generate a pairing code. After pairing, the bridge shows as "paired · no report yet" until its first report arrives, then turns green (online).

3. Add your printers

If you have already linked Bambu Cloud, printers from that account appear on the bridge within a minute, access code included. Otherwise use Find & add in the bridge window: it lists the printers it can see on the network. For a Bambu printer, enter its LAN access code, which is on the printer's screen under Settings → Network.

What you get straight away

  • Live state, progress, stage and temperatures on the Printers page
  • Which filament is in which AMS slot
  • Printer messages (HMS codes) decoded on the printer card and on Maintenance
  • Camera frames, where the printer supports it

Starting prints from PrintSol is the next step. On Bambu firmware 01.08 and newer that needs LAN Only mode with Developer Mode on; without it PrintSol uploads the file and you press start on the printer. See "My Bambu printer will not start a print from PrintSol".
