Printer cameras and the camera wall

Where camera frames show up, how often they refresh, and why a camera may stay blank.

3 min read

PrintSol shows still frames from your printer cameras, refreshed every 30 seconds. It is not a live video stream.

Where to find them

  • Live view: the button next to the model line on a printer card opens that printer's camera in a popup.
  • All cameras: the button at the top of the Printers page shows every camera side by side. Each tile asks for a fresh frame every 30 seconds; "refresh" gets one now.

The camera buttons appear for printers that already have a frame, or that are on a bridge and in control mode.

Where the frames come from

Frames are fetched by the bridge on your network, so printers that are only connected through Bambu Cloud have no camera in PrintSol. Only the latest frame is kept.

  • Bambu P1 and A1 series: works without extra setup.
  • Bambu X1 series: the bridge PC needs ffmpeg (the Windows installer takes care of it), and LAN Mode Liveview must be on in the printer's settings.
  • Other printers: enter a Camera URL under Edit printer, for example an rtsp:// stream or an http:// snapshot address on your own network.

When a camera stays blank

If a snapshot fails, the reason lands in the Activity log. The common ones:

  • Port closed on an X1: turn on LAN Mode Liveview on the printer.
  • ffmpeg missing: install it from the bridge window's Doctor.
  • Access refused: the LAN access code stored for the printer is wrong; enter the current one under Edit printer.
The Camera URL must point at a device on your local network. Public addresses are refused.
