Filament stock, burn rate and reorder points

How the Filaments page counts what you hold, how fast you use it, how many days it lasts, and when it tells you to order.

4 min read

The Filaments page lists every colour you stock with its spools. The tiles at the top show the stock value at what you actually paid, grams on hand, how many colours are below their reorder point, and your burn rate.

Burn rate and days of cover

  • Per day: grams used over the last 28 days, divided by 28. Use is booked from each finished, failed or cancelled print, plus spools you empty or weigh.
  • Cover: grams on hand divided by use per day, shown in days. Red at 7 days or less, orange at 14 or less. Hover for the run-out date.

On hand counts sealed, open, drying and mounted spools. Empty and archived spools do not count.

Reorder point

Each colour has a reorder point in grams (500 g unless you change it), set in New colour or with the pencil on its row ("Reorder at (g)"). Below it, the colour gets a "low" badge and counts in "Below reorder point". Colours from the built-in Bambu catalogue that you never bought are never counted as low.

The "only low" checkbox and the "Order all n low" button also include colours with 14 days of cover or less.

Order-by date and alerts

PrintSol assumes five days for delivery. The order-by date is the run-out date minus those five days. Supplier lead times cannot be set per supplier yet.

Owners and managers with the stock alert switched on (Settings → Notifications) get an e-mail when a colour drops below its reorder point or its order-by date is a week away. The e-mail names the order-by date. The dashboard's Needs you also lists spools below the reorder point, with a Draft PO button.

Grams used come from the slicer's prediction for each print, scaled to how far it got, because Bambu printers do not report grams themselves. Weighing a spool (the scale icon on its row) corrects what is left.
