File Manager: uploading and organising files
Which files you can upload, what PrintSol reads from them, folders, bulk actions and what delete really removes.
File Manager holds every model you print. Press Upload files or drop files anywhere on the page; they go into the folder that is open.
Files you can upload
- 3MF projects, STL, OBJ and STEP files, up to 60 MB each and 20 at a time.
- Sliced .gcode.3mf files: PrintSol reads the print time and grams straight from the file, and prints them as they are.
Uploading a file with the same name but different contents adds a new version. An identical file is skipped.
What PrintSol reads
For 3MF, STL and OBJ it reads the bounding box, volume, number of objects and plates, and whether the mesh is watertight, and it warns when a model looks like it was saved in inches. It shows a preview and "Where it can print": which of your printers the model fits. STEP files are stored, but their geometry is not read.
Finding files
- Search, a Needs a look checkbox, a type filter (meshes, 3MF projects, sliced, unused) and sorting by date, name, size or print time.
- List or Tiles with previews.
- Folders on the left: New folder, Rename, New subfolder, Remove folder. Drag rows onto a folder to move them.
Bulk actions
Tick files to Move, Slice, Make parts, Combine into one part, Add to product or Delete them in one go.
Per file
Open a file for its details, its slices, Rename, Use in a product, Slice settings, Put in the queue, Re-read geometry and downloads of the original and the sliced file.
