Choose the printer and change the order of the queue
How PrintSol picks a printer for each task, how to pin one, and how priority decides what prints first.
Automatic printer choice
Every open task gets a printer suggestion, re-checked each time the queue is loaded. PrintSol prefers, in order:
- a printer with exactly that filament loaded,
- one with the same type in a similar colour,
- one with the same type in any colour (only when the task has no fixed colour),
- any printer that can take it.
Ties go to a printer that already has a slice, then the one with the fewest open tasks, then an idle one. Printers that are offline, out of service, in observe mode or reporting a bridge error are skipped. The card shows the printer with "· auto" behind it.
Pin a printer
Press Edit on the card and pick a printer from the list. That printer is now your choice: PrintSol never moves the task, and Auto-print waits for that printer. Choose "printer: automatic" to hand the task back. The task popup shows "Chosen: by you" or "automatically".
When a customer asked for a colour ("Wants Orange") and no similar filament is loaded or on the shelf, the card says so instead of printing in whatever is loaded.
Priority
- Move to top, Move up and Move down on a card change its place. The whole board is renumbered and the card swaps with its visible neighbour.
- Edit → Priority sets a number from 0 to 999. Lower prints first.
Defaults: shop orders 100, stock runs 160 (so they yield to customers), projects 0 unless you set another priority on the project.
A changed order shows up in delivery forecasts on the next scheduler run, within a few minutes.
